Hands on cooking and gardening activities. Participants will have an opportunity to work in both the kitchen and the garden and learn about the valuable connection between the two. In these 4 week sessions children will have fun planting and harvesting vegetables from the garden to make a variety of vegetarian dishes and healthy snacks. Take home recipe books and seedlings. You will be surprised at what they will eat, when they are involved in the growing and cooking of food!

Scratch - Offered Free
Scratch is a valuable 8 week food/cooking skills program for youth in grades 8-10. Ideal for teens that want to enhance their food related skills and employablility in the food industry, the program includes:

guest speakers
possible volunteer placements

Growin' On Up - Offered Free
Growin' On Up is a cooking program for young parents (15 - 24 yrs) and their children (up to age 6).

The group meets on Wednesdays to cook 2-3 recipes together, share them, and even take a little something home. Whenever possible, all the recipes will feature one key ingredient in a variety of ways, highlighting the flexibility of many of our staple vegetables. Participants can also expect hands-on educational activities related to nutrition, growing, harvesting, cooking and preserving healthy food.

Participation is free but to ensure there are enough supplies, registration is appreciated.
