Membership
Nanaimo Foodshare is a registered, non-profit charitable organization. All of our programs aim to increase food security in our community. In so doing, we also hope to reduce the overwhelming pressure on our local food banks and emergency programs.
As a non-profit society, a thriving membership base is crucial to our work. Membership in Nanaimo Foodshare is only $5/year and benefits include:
- Invitations to special events
- Attendance at the AGM and ability to vote on matters that affect the society
- Special rates on space and equipment rental
- Feeling good about helping to build a healthier Nanaimo

Volunteer
Of course there are a myriad of other ways you can help out too. If you have skills, good used equipment you want to donate, want to learn new skills, or make a difference in your community by volunteering your time and enthusiasm - please contact us. Training, and hands-on learning are provided for the following:
- Reception and general office duties
- Program assistance
- Board of directors
- Committee membership
- Event planning
- Fundraising

A Big Thank You!
Rotary Club of Nanaimo North generously donated $5,000 to our Summer Lunch Munch program. This support goes a long way in helping to provide approximately 200 meals per day to children in our community over the summer months.
