Summer Lunch Munch

For over a decade, the Summer Lunch Munch program has provided nutritious lunches and nutritional information to kids in Nanaimo's parks during the summer holidays.

Because our community has one of the highest rates of child poverty in all of BC, during the summer when school meal programs are not operating, we work hard to ensure that no child should have to go without. We strive to help children meet one third of their daily nutritional requirements to ensure optimal health and growth. Our program also provides children with nutritional education to help them make good choices that contribute to their health and well-being.

The Summer Lunch Munch program has become a vital part of the lives of children in this community. Our success is largely due to the support of community members, service groups, and local businesses.

The Summer Lunch Munch Program is sponsored in part by:

  • The BC Gaming Commission
  • Service Canada
  • Quality Foods
  • Sharon Lindsay
  • Coastal Community Credit Union
  • The Lantzville Ladies Auxillery
  • and The Sons of Norway

Thanks for helping us help our community!

As child poverty increases, the need for our program increases. This year, we need your support more than ever. Donations can be made in the form of nutritious foods, gift certificates, cash, or products that can be used for fundraising.
